Te Tūranga / About the Role:
We’re looking for a motivated and people-focused Senior Team Leader to join our Site & Distribution team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing a production team and ensuring daily operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
In this role, you’ll lead from the front - spending most of your time on the floor supporting your team, verifying processes, and driving performance across production, safety, and quality. You’ll play a key role in translating production plans into action, ensuring your team understands expectations and how their work contributes to broader departmental outcomes.
You’ll also foster a high-performing team culture, providing coaching, feedback, and clear communication to support individual and team success. This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and people development.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 6am to 3.30pm, some flexibility required for the odd Saturday.
Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and support team members to achieve production, quality, and safety targets.
- Communicate daily production plans clearly and ensure team understanding and delivery.
- Monitor production performance, including yields, KPIs, and workflow, acting where required.
- Promote and embed a strong health, safety, and compliance culture never compromising standards.
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and quality requirements are met and maintained.
- Build strong working relationships across teams to support effective coordination and outcomes.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the team and wider department.
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance management for team members.
- Support reporting, problem-solving, and operational improvements across the department.
Ōu Pūkenga / About You:
You’re an experienced people leader who enjoys working closely with your team and driving performance on the floor. You take pride in building strong team culture, supporting development, and ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a production or processing environment (ideally meat industry).
- Basic understanding of Microsoft and general computer function.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold people accountable.
- Excellent communication skills - clear, concise, and engaging.
- A solid understanding of production processes, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, with a commitment to building a strong safety culture.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
- A team-first mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
